Welcome to the Technology Department!
Technology plays a vital role in preparing students for success in college, careers, and an increasingly connected world. The Nyack Public Schools Technology Department is committed to creating engaging learning environments where technology is used purposefully to enhance instruction, support innovation, and empower students as creative, collaborative, and critical thinkers.
Technology is integrated thoughtfully into teaching and learning to support skill development, problem-solving, communication, and digital citizenship. Our approach emphasizes meaningful use of digital tools to enhance learning, while maintaining balance with hands-on instruction, collaboration, and traditional learning experiences.
As technology continues to evolve, our district remains committed to ensuring students are responsible digital citizens who are prepared to thrive in a modern world.

Student Technology Initiatives
STREAM
The STREAM program serves students in grades K–5 across all three elementary schools and integrates Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics through hands-on, project-based learning experiences. Students engage in collaborative problem-solving, coding, engineering design challenges, robotics, and makerspace activities that encourage creativity, innovation, and critical thinking. Through authentic, real-world tasks, students develop the skills needed to design, create, and adapt in an ever-changing world.
RedHawks TV
RedHawks TV is a student-produced news program created in each school’s Production Room located in the Global Learning Commons (library). Students at the elementary level actively produce RedHawks TV through engaging, developmentally appropriate experiences that build communication, storytelling, teamwork, and digital citizenship skills. At the middle and high school levels, students take an active role in planning, filming, and producing broadcasts that share school news and highlight the school community.
Production Rooms
The Production Room is located in the Global Learning Commons (library) of all five schools and provides flexible, hands-on makerspaces and media-production environments where students and staff bring ideas to life through creativity, collaboration, and innovation. These spaces support students in designing, creating, and producing a wide range of digital and hands-on projects across subject areas.
Across all grade levels, students engage in activities such as video production, podcasts, multimedia presentations, engineering and design challenges, and creative problem-solving experiences that connect learning to real-world applications. These spaces encourage students to think critically, communicate effectively, and explore ideas through authentic, project-based learning.
