Dear Parents and Guardians:

We know that children need healthy meals to learn. Here are some important Food Service Program and Provider items to remember for the 2024-25 school year:

We are pleased to announce that all students enrolled in Nyack Public Schools will receive a FREE breakfast and lunch meal throughout the school year through the federal Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). What does this mean for your student(s) who attend Nyack Public Schools? All students will receive a nutritious breakfast and lunch AT NO CHARGE each school day, regardless of family income. No further action is required of you.
Even though families no longer need to submit the free/reduced lunch application form, we ask that you fill out the attached Education Benefit Form, which will help our schools qualify for Federal and State Grants that support instructional initiatives and student learning. Additionally when eligible, your child(ren) may qualify to receive waivers for college applications, admissions tests (SAT & ACT), and other education benefits.
A la carte items and snacks will still be available for purchase using My Payments Plus. Online application is available.
We begin a new school year with our new Food Service Provider, Whitsons. We also are pleased to introduce our new Food Service Director, Ms. Linda Ladolcetta. She will be working daily with our schools’ cafeteria staff, introducing new menu items, and implementing building level outreach initiatives that support healthy choices and good nutrition. 5. We have a new interactive menu App that will provide easy access to important information about food items served in our schools. Located online via our district and school websites, you may now click on food items listed for each school menu to review ingredients, allergens, nutritional values.

The Community Eligibility Program (CEP): All students enrolled at Nyack Public Schools are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at school at no charge to your household each day of the 2024-2025 school year. Even though families no longer need to submit an application to qualify for free or reduced lunch, we are asking you to submit the Education Benefit Form, which will help Nyack Schools qualify for Federal and State Grants that support instructional initiatives and student learning. In addition, if eligible, you may also qualify to receive waivers for college applications & admissions tests (i.e. SATs, ACTs), and discounted school fees (i.e., fees for instruments etc).

Disposición de Elegibilidad Comunitaria (CEP)/Disposición SPANISH: Todos los estudiantes inscritos en las Escuelas Públicas de Nyack son elegibles para recibir un desayuno y almuerzo saludables en la escuela sin costo para su hogar todos los días del año escolar 2024-2025. Aunque las familias ya no necesitan enviar una solicitud para calificar para el almuerzo gratuito o de precio reducido, le pedimos que envíe el Formulario de beneficios educativos, que ayudará a las Escuelas de Nyack a calificar para las subvenciones federales y estatales que respaldan las iniciativas educativas y el aprendizaje de los estudiantes.
