Welcome to the Mathematics Department
The mission of the mathematics department is to provide our students with a robust education in mathematics that will give them the skills to succeed in a global community.
To accomplish this mission, the teachers of Nyack will collaborate to revise and update curriculum, share best practices, and incorporate technology. To enhance students' experience in mathematics, we will integrate the subject to real life experiences and to other disciplines.

The Nyack Summer Food Program helps ensure no child goes without meals when school is out. Free breakfast and lunch are served weekdays to anyone under 18 years of age. No ID, no residency, no registration, no documentation needed.

The Registration Office will be located in Nyack Middle School for July and August due to construction in the Central Administration building parking lot.

Dr. Lizzette Ruiz-Giovinazzi, Superintendent of Schools, and the Nyack Public Schools (NPS) Board of Education are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Crystal Chandler as the next Principal of Nyack High School, effective July 1, 2026.
Dr. Chandler joins the NPS team with an impressive record of cultivating positive school culture, strengthening instructional leadership, advancing equitable outcomes for diverse student populations, and ensuring all students have access to the learning opportunities they need to thrive in school and become the best versions of themselves in life. Her belief that all students should be known, supported, and positioned for success is clearly aligned with the district’s mission and vision.
New York State Math League
NYS Math League is a club in which students individually compete in math contests. The math contests give students an educationally enriching opportunity to participate in an academically-oriented activity and to gain recognition for mathematical achievement. The questions cover a variety of difficulty ranges and involve topics of interest to students. The key is to encourage students to enjoy a challenge and to learn from it to find problem-solving discussions stimulating. If you are interested in participating in the NYS Math League, please email Ms. Tatti @ etatti@nyackschools.org or speak with your teacher to obtain a permission slip. Our first competition is on Tuesday October 18, 2022 after school in room 312. All students are welcome! The next two meets will be during lunch on Tuesday, November 15 and Tuesday, December 13.
