Library Media
Welcome to the Nyack Public Schools Library Media Program
Welcome to the Nyack Public Schools Library Media Program! Our libraries—known as the Global Learning Commons (GLC)—serve as welcoming spaces where students discover the joy of reading, explore new ideas, develop research and digital literacy skills, and collaborate in a supportive learning environment.
Across all five schools, our certified library media specialists work closely with students and teachers to foster a love of learning while providing access to high-quality print and digital resources, technology, and innovative learning experiences. Whether students are searching for their next great book, conducting research, creating multimedia projects, or participating in engaging library programs, the Global Learning Commons is a hub for curiosity, creativity, and lifelong learning.
Below, you'll find information for each school's Global Learning Commons, including library hours, contact information for our library media specialists, and links to each school's library page where you can explore available resources, programs, and services.

Production Rooms
Each Global Learning Commons includes a dedicated Production Room where students bring ideas to life through creativity, collaboration, and hands-on learning.
At our elementary schools, Production Rooms provide students with opportunities to produce Redhawks TV, the school news program, while developing communication, storytelling, teamwork, and digital citizenship skills in an engaging and supportive environment.
At both the middle school and high school levels, Production Rooms expand these opportunities by providing flexible learning spaces where students and teachers create videos, podcasts, digital media, and other innovative projects that enhance classroom learning. At both levels, students also contribute to Redhawks TV, working collaboratively to plan, film, and share school news and announcements with the school community. Students build real-world skills through authentic, project-based learning experiences that emphasize creativity, communication, and problem-solving.
Whether students are producing a news broadcast, designing a multimedia presentation, creating a podcast, or building a prototype, the Production Rooms encourage innovation, creativity, and confident communication while supporting the curriculum across all subject areas.
Elementary STREAM Labs
In addition to serving as vibrant library spaces, the Global Learning Commons at our elementary schools feature dedicated STREAM Labs where students engage in hands-on learning experiences that integrate Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. Through collaborative projects, creative problem-solving, coding, engineering design challenges, robotics, and makerspace activities, students develop the critical thinking and innovation skills needed for the future.
